It adds a whole other layer to him asking about steve having a peel off face when red skull does it. He wants to be prepared for what is going to happen to him. He asks if it hurt so he can be prepared for himself. He asks if it's permanent for Steve and for him. His questions have a double layer. He wants to know what happened to Steve but also what could happen to him. He's wanting to be there for his friend and he also wants to prepare himself.
